You can find “On Baseball Media” in the iTunes store.
When “On Baseball Writing” launched in 2016, I wasn’t sure whether it would work. Do people really want to hear baseball writers talk about writing? I had my doubts, but I was thrilled with the response. Over the past year and a half, I’ve had conversations with writers that have helped my own writing and encouraged me to continue pursuing this passion.
Numerous writers/listeners also reached out (which I always appreciate) letting me know they were encouraged and/or learned a great deal from specific episodes. Knowing that other writers are benefiting from these conversations is the best part of the podcast for me, and that desire to be helpful is part of the impetus for transitioning to “On Baseball Media.”
The podcast will still feature conversations with writers, but it will also include interviews with individuals covering the game in numerous other ways. Over the next few months, you’ll hear from play-by-play broadcasters, social media coordinators, radio hosts, TV talent, etc. If there is someone involved in any aspect of baseball media, we want to talk to them. Hopefully, this will benefit an even larger audience of people who want to work in baseball in some capacity, but aren’t quite sure where to start.
Thanks to everyone who has made “On Baseball Writing” a success, and I look forward to hearing from others who cover this wonderful game. If you have any suggestions for future guests, please pass them along.
